I had intended to interview a couple of realtors, but Mike wasted no time in demonstrating he was the right person for the job. Mike immediately followed up via e-mail and phone and made room in his schedule the following day. Great start…but when I awoke to a package that contained Mike’s portfolio and market research, I knew I had found the right realtor. And he continued to reinforce that impression throughout our working relationship. Given my Mom’s passing, I had a lot on my plate. Mike was extremely caring and did everything he could to make the process go as smoothly as possible, including helping to get the property in tip top shape for sale and was also able to recommend excellent professionals to work with (cleaners, movers, etc.). I also lived afar, so being able to trust that things were in good hands was essential, and Mike left no doubt about that. He stayed in great communication throughout and made sure we had a plan to address every task. Like most deals, mine was not without its challenges. However, I couldn’t imagine a better person that I’d want in my corner than Mike to work through them. For example, the market as a whole turned at the outset of listing, but Mike was collaborative in exploring pricing strategies and creative in finding ways to appeal to different types of buyers. When working through negotiation, Mike was very knowledgeable and he put us in the best position to execute the sale. Where questions came up, he worked tirelessly to resolve them. He helped check off the seller side items to close the sale. He went above and beyond and regularly checked in on the property to ensure everything went smoothly. Mike was extremely diligent, involved, and helpful in every phase of the process. Mike is a fantastic realtor that I would work again with in a heartbeat. Given where I was personally having just lost my mom, I also found Mike to be very caring beyond simply the business of the sale. I met Mike Mahoney at a business lunch, 2-3 years ago, and he made such a great impression that unlike so many others, his card never left my wallet, and when my wife and I were ready to upgrade from a condo to a house, there wasn’t any question of who to call. Throughout the five long months it took us to find that place that was “just right” (i.e. not a non-starter because of major structural, contamination or infestation issues, as was frequently the case in this seller’s market), Mike was an absolute Superstar (with a capital “S”), always going out of his way to help us navigate the hurdles and keeping our spirits aloft through the searching and bidding processes until we found our “forever home”. And when we found the place that ticked off all our boxes, and discovered that it (like all houses) needed a little bit of TLC, Mike was right there by our side, alternately referring us to some truly great contractors and telling us which details to be mindful of, when hiring others. I met Mike about two years ago when we were going to put the house on the market…unfortunately, I got ill and as I recuperated, my husband got extremely ill and we were not able to sell at that time.., Mike had never forgotten about us..
